CT Update

So, holy crap. It seems after only 4 years removed from high school it seems at least half of my graduating class is getting married. There have been a few times I that I have seen the wedding announcements in the paper, I know at least 2 or 3 of them. I understand that they are in love and that's great, but when did I get this old? It seems like yesterday it was senior year and I was trying to figure out where I was going to go to college (which really wasn't that hard). I have been to weddings this summer of close friends from high school and one of my best friends from college. Holy crap we are getting old.

So after cleaning out my closet I found a lot of things that I haven't seen in a few years. One was a vortex football and the others were some senior stuff from high school. The things from high school included our ten year predictions which mine said, "In Ten years I will be married with children and still working at Andys Farm Market." And well four years later I am still working at Andys. Woooooooo. Today I get to work 12-close which won't be bad however I hate working the afternoon shift so this afternoon might be a two shirt day. Its going to be toasty, come visit.

"We are the People from Alabama"

GOOOOOOD Morning, yeah it's early so what. This has been my summer thus far, I feel worthless let me tell you.

My life the last 4 years is summed up in a little book with about 60 or so pictures spread out through my life as a college student. They are all amazing, but none of them stand out to me to be a favorite. My favorite picture from college actually came after I graduated but I was at Sarah Young Jackson's wedding so im counting it as college.

Yes, the girl in the picture is good ole smacks. One of my best friends girlfriend, suck it JT. But there is one picture that rivals it, alas I cannot put it on here because I do not have a scanner and its old picture. Its a picture of me when I was probably 7 or 8 I was waiting to go play baseball and im sitting on a rock in my backyard playing my gameboy, what makes it great is that the magnet holding it up says, "C is for Carefree". It sums me up perfectly.

I Want to start you off with a video this time, I heard it on the radio last week and just find it funny, great song. I know its about an ex but I rather think about it towards anyone who has done me wrong. Its pretty harsh for an ex in my opinion.

So I just got back from my graduation present to Napa Valley aka wine country. It was great and I wish I was still out there, it was nice to just sit around and drink wine all day and not have any worries at all. My top wineries are here in order

1) 29
2) Jarvis
3) Swanson
4) Silver Oak
5) Bugay
6) ZD
7) Duckhorn

The last three are really close together, however I had to give them a number

here are some pictures from the week, I havent had much to write about it seems, I need to start keeping notes or something because I always have the urge to write but I dont.

alum

So its been about 6 days since I walked across the stage and since i've moved home and its been different. This isnt like me coming home for the weekend or anything, this is full time, at least for a little while. So the past week I have come up with a few things that I miss/dont miss and like/dont like about living at the ATO House and living at home.

Miss about ATO

My coffee (moms just isnt as good)
My friends being just across the hall
Dominating souls at Halo/Call of Duty
Playing Super Smash as Sonic
CT with A don
That I can keep my room as messy as possible without being yelled at
my routine
my own DVR

Dont miss about ATO

Wearing shower shoes
My Small Bed
Limited amount of food
the food
the internet
being yelled at for going to be early compared to others
my small bed (yeh i know)

Things I like about being at home

The Food
The Internet (no crashing while playing Call of Duty)
the Wine (im being spoiled)
my big boy bed
my own bathroom and shower
no shower shoes
friends being in bham
my dad loves watching football in the off season

What I dont like about being home

My mom yelling at me for not having my room up to her standards
The random manual labor
mom yelling at me
their dinner schedule (i've gotten used to eating at 5) but I will survive

So this week is the Regions Memorial Classic at Ross Bridge, this has been the best year yet, at least from my prospective. Since Pops is running a lot of things this year, I have gotten to play with some pros for a little bit and talk to them. AWESOME, last night I got to eat dinner with Bernhard Langer. Got to follow the US Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin, nice guy but short. Im sure most of you reading this have NO idea who those guys are but trust me they are a big deal. The tournament starts today and that means a long weekend of me sitting on the 18th green.

you stay classy and if any of you want to come out to the tournament let me know

See How Far We Have Come

4 years, 4 freaking years I have spent in this town in Alabama. I have made some great choices and I have also made a few questionable. I do not however regret anything I have done in my 4 years at the University of Alabama. The girls have meant the world to me, they will be with me for the rest of my life and I know I can go to any of them if I need help, trust me I have done it a time or two already. The guys have done it all, they have played golf, gone drinking, and even made me attempt to water ski. Most of them will be in my wedding one day, if that ever happens. I am not sure what I am going to do without this network of friends being from NC to California, However Sparky is very content with EVERYONE moving to bham. I am ending my career at UA starting Thursday night with a midnight premier of Iron Man 2, waking up early (which doesn’t bother me as much as it probably should) to eat breakfast with all the seniors, a party at the Ocho, wait I mean Hills, then going to grab a few drinks with some of the people I have had class with all four years. So, there’s my schedule for the next two days……

Today I am saying my final goodbye to a dear friend of mine, Marion was the curator of the Gorgas House for the past 10 years and also the Advisor to the Jasons. He has been a mentor and friend to me for the past year. I could tell him anything and he would never pass judgment on you or anyone who is associated with me. He seemed to have his eye and ear in a lot of things going on around the University and it was just nice to sit and hear him rant on and on and even hear stories for the 10th time when he thinks you've never heard it before.

Man under the hat

Most people like hats, they wear them when they just woke up and don't feel like taking a shower, when its sunny, when fishing, when going to work, and the list goes on and on. Hats give people character, hats come in all different makes and models; kind of like cars. Cat in the Hat wore a hat, and look how awesome he turned out. I really wish bowler hats would come back in style and its not only because I own one and love it. The photo below is an image of the painting "Son of Man" which hangs in my room at this time. One day I would like to own a nicer print and have it sprayed with something that makes it feel like the real thing. I say that only because I will not be able to afford to buy the actual painting.

I feel that a lot of my friends are going back to the basics with the blogs, by explaining the meaning behind them and I thought i'd do the same real quick. The title of my blog is a paraphrase from a quote by a golfer who claims that the game of golf is not played with your arms and clubs however its played the left and right ear. Its a mind game, if one bad shot happens you might not be able to shake it off. You can swing perfectly but in the microsecond before you strike the ball your wrist can break in or out and that sends the ball 30 yards in the wrong direction. I believe that I don't just play for the shot that is upcoming but the shot is yet to come.

I have had a bad habit of only updating once or twice a month, that is a bad habit. Hopefully its a habit I can shake.

you stay classy

and heres to the last 4 years.

There're Ninjas on the LAWN!

You know it's going to be a good day when it starts off by watching Robin Williams on Late Night Talk Shows.
Just an update, im not doing bad. I graduate in a month or so, f. No, I do not know what I will be doing after graduation. I'm ready to be done with school and move out of Tuscaloosa, only because I am ready for something new. Even though "new" might be living at home for a little while. Today is demo day at the club and that equals Christmas in April for Cal and pops. Now to today's funny/fantastic youtubes.

This is for anyone who forgot that we won the national championship
